ESN International

ESN is represented at the international level by the Board of ESN (International Board - IB) and the Council of National Representatives (CNR).

The International Board

The International Board works full time for one year on a voluntary basis in Brussels, Belgium on the various projects of ESN and represents ESN at various events and meetings in Brussels and around Europe. It is the executive Body of ESN and consists of five members: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Web Project Administrator and External Relations. In addition to the Board two further roles support their work, the EVS Volunteer (European Voluntary Service Volunteer) and the Secretary (a paid position).

The Council of National Representatives

The Council of National Representatives (CNR) is composed of the National Representatives (NRs), who are elected by the individual member countries of ESN. It exists as the second highest decision body over the year, with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) being the highest decision making body of ESN (learn more about ESN meetings).

The CNR is one of the main strategic bodies of ESN International. It collaborates with the Board on a joint approach for the strategy and the policy making of ESN. Providing advice and checking the work of the Board.

The CNR acts as the primary facilitator for communication between the Board and the societies (sections). The NRs represent the voice of the sections in their country and express their opinions and provide feedback and vote on various issues presented by the Board and themselves at the CNR meetings held six times a year all over Europe.
