
Oslo is the largest city and the capital in Norway with 600 000 inhabitants. Oslo is situated in the south east of Norway, in the Oslo fjord. Oslo is well known for being the hometown of the royal family, and you can find the royal palace in the end of the main street, Carl Johan. Oslo is known for its wide range of culture offers, like museums, the Opera, the national theatre, plenty of bars and restaurants and great shopping facilities.
There are about 60 000 students in Oslo, where about 30 000 are studying at the University of Oslo (UiO), and 12 000 at the University College (HiO). HiO offers a wide range of degrees in the following areas: Business administration, engineering, fine art, design, drama, health sciences, media studies, teacher education and social sciences. UiO offers a wide range of degrees in the following areas: economics and social sciences, education, health sciences information technology and informatics, history, philosophy and culture, language and litterature, law, mathematics, nutral science and technology, media studies, religion and theory studies, There are also other higher education institutions in Oslo, like BI (norwegian school of management) and others.
There are two ESN sections in Oslo, one supported by the University in Oslo, and the other by Oslo University College.
